NEWS: 4-30-2005

I will be releasing MagicVid 02.1 in the next few days. I have made many improvements since the last release. MagicVid now has a progressbar, has more feedback from each process, and has less depends. Please see the upcoming changelog and releasenotes for the details. Also, I am working on a modified tcrequant program to shrink video with.

Magicvid is a gui for several shell scripts and command line tools for processing and burning video files. My goal is to create a gui for these functions that is easy to understand and use. You can do every step of the dvd or vcd authoring process here except for authoring the dvd. I like Qdvdauthor for this step.

Magicvid will:

1--Convert any video that mplayer can play to dvd or vcd ready format.

2--Shrink .mpg files by a set %.

3--Join two .mpg video files.

4--Create a dvd-video.iso from a dvd fileset (output from qdvdauthor for example).

5--Create a vcd .bin/.cue image to burn to vcd

6--Direct copy a cd into .iso format and burn to a cd with two button clicks.

7--Burn a dvd-video.iso to a blank dvd-r.

9--Burn a vcd .bin/.cue image to a cd-r.
